CodeWeavers has released CrossOver Games 8.0 (US $40), a new version of it's gaming version of CrossOver, software that runs Windows applications on a Mac, but without the need for Windows. CrossOver Games 8.0 adds support for additional PC games, including Left4Dead, and Tales of Monkey Island (Steam Verion), as well as support for Snow Leopard. The company said that the new version also includes "under-the-hood" changes that result in improved graphics and increased frame rates.
The CrossOver 8.0 updated also includes fixes for specific games that were already supported, including Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Spore, Guild Wars, Civilization IV, and Bejeweled.
Other newly supported games include Perfect World International's Perfect World, Jade Empire, and Ether Saga, as well as Aeria Games' Dragon Sky, Shaiya (English versions only).
CodeWeavers also released a Linux version of CrossOver Games 8.0. For the Mac and Linux versions, the price includes 12 months of free product support and software updates. CrossOver customers with an active support entitlement can download this latest version at no cost.
