Updates for Citrix GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar are Mac compatible with free VoIP
Thursday, July 10, 2008
Yesterday, Citrix launched updated versions of its GoToMeeting 4.0 and GoToWebinar 4.0 conferencing software/service that are now fully Mac compatible. Mac users can now conduct meetings and webinars. Previously, Macs could only join meetings and conferences, and did not have access to all of the features of Windows participants. Citrix said that both Mac and Windows users have access to "true one-click meetings."
The new versions also add free voice over IP (VoIP) as well as dial-in phone conferencing. The two types of audio are integrated, so that different participants of the same conference can use different audio connections. Both web conferencing packages provide screen sharing for presentations, video, or training.
Citrix targets GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar at small-to-businesses. GoToMeeting is intended for online meetings for up to 15 attendees, or 25 with the GoToMeeting Corporate version. GoToWebinar is designed for large web events with up to 1000 participants, according to Citrix. GoToWebinar includes tools for creating online registration tools as well as reporting functionality to collect attendee feedback.
GoToMeeting is available for a flat monthly fee of US $49, or US $39 per month for an annual commitment. GoToWebinar is available for US $99 per month or US $79 per month for a year.
