I just installed Office Mac 2011. After I connected it with my email account it started to download all the messages I had on my exchange server (gmail) what is around 22 000 emails. I started to erase these emails but I realized they disappear also from my exchange server. Is it possible to somehow avoid deleting messages from the exchange server?

when I go to "tools- account" I see it is an IMAP account. But also I see the incoming server is and outgoingserver is (not sure if this information is somehow relevant to the topic and can help)
