New to Mac World ;)

We try to integrate (bind ?) a Mac Book Pro in our Active Directory domain. Several attemps, all negative.
We don't know Mac World as we are PC specialists.

The problem is about dns and the no FQDN name of our domaine. It's a short name, xxxx instead of for example.
Microsoft called it SLDN, for Single Label Domain Name.

Is there any restricition about that ??
How can i properly bind the Mac in a domain like this (Thirsby, Centrify ... ?) ?
Where can i find informations about this error : "Veuillez saisir un nom dns correct pour le domaine" (means the dns name of our domain is not OK)

Thank you
