Mac 10.6.x client is successfully joined (taking 5 to 7 mintues to join) to the Windows Server 2008 based domain. But it’s taking too much time (approx. 5 to 7 minutes) to shows the “Other” option (using that, log on by AD user) in login window on Mac client. Has anyone idea, why is it taking that long time. |

It depends on how you are connected. If you are using ethernet only the login should be quick. If it's wireless or a combination that can slow things down considerably. A trick I use to speed up login on mobile users is disconnect all network interfaces on logout. I use mobile accounts cached to the drive. Doing this uses cached credentials and allows a fast login. I would try checking what dc you are connected to if you have more than one. I use sudo net -P ads info |
