Hello, I did give it a shot yesterday night in my test lab. At my great surprise, looks like it is fixed! Could bind the Mac in like 20 seconds. Reboot and try to log on the AD Domain. But it's not like on a Windows machine. I still have to wait like 20-30 seconds before the red dot disappear. But it's much better than before. Voilà, just for info

Olivier, what windows server version are you using? could you share with us the steps to connect the mac to the windows server? I believe it will be very useful for many of the mac newcomers. Best regards. Arturo |

Hello, All my apologize for the delay. My answer will be really simple: Windows 2008 R2 SP1 with all the latest updates. 1. I presaged the computer name in an OU. Not the Computer container but a newly created OU. Something like MAC Computers (your choice ). That server is also a Domain Controller and DNS Server. My DHCP reside on the time capsule2. On the OS X 10.7.3 Client, I forced the dns and search domain. 3. In Preferences, then User and Groups (Login Options) I did bind to my Active Directory specifying the FQDN. Be sure the doesn't have an '_'. User an '-' instead. 4 On your AD DC box check the OU to see if the MAC appears. After 20-30 seconds your MAC should be in the AD Domain and you should be able to log with an AD User accounts. Let me know. Olivier |
