| Post subject: | Spotlight re-indexes after each login for AD users |
I have several 10.6.4 clients bound to AD. In their AD user accounts, the profile is redirected to a SMB share on my windows 2008 box. The users can login just fine and everything seems to work except for spotlight. Each and every time they login to the account, spotlight will re-index. Several of the users' home directories are over 15gb so it takes 5+ hours to complete. I read that it could be index corruption and I should try mdutil -E / No luck there Console reports several errors for the mdworker process. mdworker[305] Invalid char = PropertName in line 18 Any ideas? |

I have had no luck with this. I ended up disabling Spotlight. launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.Spotlight.plist sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchAgents/com.apple.Spotlight.plist sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist sudo find / -iname '.Spotlight-V100' -type d -maxdepth 3 -print0 | xargs -0 -t -n1 sudo rm -rf |
