Hi, I am trying to bind 10.6.4 to AD. Binding seems successful. I can log an AD user i.e tstudent. Then if I log out and try logging in tstaff I get "You are unable to log in to the user account "tstaff" at this time Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred. If I restart the iMac I will then be able to log tstaff and won't be able to log tstudent. It appears that after the 1st logon I cannot log anyone else unless I restart the computer. Here are the logs showing first the successful connection and then the unsuccessful one. Hi, Sorry to drag up an old post, but I'm having exactly this problem. I've got a 10.6 server in a golden triangle configuration with 10.6.7 clients. I've unbound and rebound the client to AD a number of times... Did you ever find a resolution for this problem? Thanks |

Solved it. Create a file in Textedit with the name 'auto_master' (no file extension) with the following contents: # # Automounter master map # +auto_master # Use directory service /net -hosts -nobrowse,hidefromfinder,nosuid /home auto_home -nobrowse,hidefromfinder #/Network/Servers -fstab /- -static Place this in /etc/ folder Hope this helps |

Thank you. Great to have an older issue fixed. If anyone has tried this approach, please post a note here. |
