Post subject:  Roaming Profiles on 10.5 server

I'm running 10.5 server with Windows XP roaming profiles, despite telling users not to log onto the same profile on different machines, they still do it. Is there any way to prevent logging onto more than 1 PC with the same profile? thx :?:

You must be a member of the "users" group in order to have the right to log on locally.
This would have to be done to each computer you want to restrict:

Remove "NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users" from the "users" group

To eliminate the option to logon to a computer from a domain, follow the instructions bellow:

1. Right click "My Computer" icon on the desktop.

2. Choose on "Manage".

3. Extract "Local Users and Groups".

4. Click on "Groups".

5. In the right side of the screen double click on "Users" group.

6. Remove: "NTAUTHORITY\Authenticated Users" from the list.

7. Add the require user/s or and group/s to the "Users" local group.

This may create problems if you forget to add important user accounts back in to the list. For example a special backup user automatically generated by your software will also loose ability to run it's commands. The program may fail to operate correctly because they don't expect you to do things like this. So verify that all admin and system accounts can still get in.
