Hi all! I am new to this forum, and have a basic knowledge of windows and mac software, and I am stuck on a problem and was hoping someone would be able to help!!

I have had a macbook for a year now. I installed bootcamp and have been using windows partition for the last year, no issues. However, my computer has started freezing, and cannot complete CHKDSK or SEATOOLS HDD tests. This tells me my HDD is on the way out. So i booted to my mac partition, and was going to install OSX on a USB and repeat, to fully reformat the HDD, just to make sure it cant be salvaged before i go out and buy a new one.
However i have forgotten the password :@ cant boot to COMMAND + S because windows boots automatically usually.

So in short, i need a solution to make a OSX bootable USB (found instructions for this), on a windows PC, that can be installed from the windows partition on a macbook. confusing huh?

Would be really grateful if anyone could help us out with this one, spent a fair few hours on this already

thanks all!

I think that you should read a guide on the following webpage:

Thanks for the feedback. Understanding that this is related to Thunderbolt helps. I don't believe we have the latest version of BootCamp installed so this may be the reason for the "wake" hang-up.
