Post subject:  Macbook Air (late 2010) - BLUE SCREEN ISSUE

Dear all,

I am a big fun of Mac OS x, but I need to run win boot camp because of my job.
I purchased very nice piece of HW (Macbook Air 2010) but - I don't know what to do now.
Accidentally after restarting computer, I am getting blue screens applemtp.sys

I went through all discussion forums I found and I can say it's not a problem with Trackpad only. I installed different drivers but ... than I realized if I run updates it goes to blue screen again.

So I turned off auto updates, I used Trackpad++ driver ... but ... sometime blue screen appears again ...

Is there anyone to help?
Thanks a lot - every help is really appreciated.

BR,
Mila

You didn't say what version of Windows you're using. Boot Camp wants Win XP SP2 or later.

For Windows 7, we had a report of similar issue (though with a different error message), which is described on our Boot Camp 3 Tips and Reports page. The article is called TIP: Reinstall of Win 7 fixed Boot Camp 3 applehfs.sys blue screens.

Let us know if this is useful.

Hi,

thanks a lot for quick reply.
I am sorry - I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit ... BootCamp 3.1. (so newer than 3.0)

I am also able to donate / pay something for getting this error fixed ... as I need just to work ;)

What I recognized is that I am getting these errors when doing updates. I turned automatic updates off but still sometime when restart having a Blue Screen. It is 100% problem with BSOD and applemtp.sys - when something goes into boot (BSOD) it causes blue screen crash.

Apple just the other day released new Boot Camp updates, Boot Camp 3.2, which, among other things, improves graphics support. Apple has versions for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows:

Boot Camp 3.2 for Windows 32 bit

Boot Camp 3.2 for Windows 64 bit

Let us know if this fixes the problem.

In similar troubles.
MacBook Air late 2010 13 Inch.
Windows 7 64 Bit Ultimate.
After updating some Windows Patches and rebooting, I get the Blue Screen.
applemtp.sys
DRIVER_UNLOADED_WITHOUT_CANCELLING_PENDING_OPERATIONS

Now, all attempts to repair this from Windows 7 have failed, too. System Restore finished with an "Unknown Error" and the Startup repair can't do anything worth mentioning, too.
Worse, I have no idea how to get back to MacOS now, without Bootcamp.
Heard a lot about a new Bootcamp Version, but so far I could not finf out the installed version .....

Currently my shiny Air is nothing but a brick ... Maybe someone can help me?

2All MacBook Air late 2010 owners:

after installing updates KB2436673 and KB2479628 we have a BSOD with applemtp.sys

Just DO NOT install this updates, and all must be fine with your MACs=)

sorry for my bad english.
