Splashtop demonstrated its Splashtop remote control software at Macworld | iWorld last week, available in a consumer version and a business version with policy controls. The consumer version Splashtop Remote Desktop ($1.99), and the Pro version enable users to operate Macs and Windows PC from almost any mobile device, including iOS (iPads, iPhone), Android, Amazon Kindle, and other devices. With either the consumer or Pro version, the mobile device runs a Splashtop app ($1.99) software while the Mac or Windows PC run "streamer" software (free).
Splashtop Pro enables administrators to deploy tablets owned by the user or the company and manage users centrally from a web-based Admin Console. Splashtop Pro includes a cloud-based server offered as a service by Splashtop. The management interface enables administrators to set permissions for access to computers from phones and tablets and group computers for shared access. Admins can also set connection policy (the type of connection and time), manage updates, and monitor the history of connections. Splashtop Pro uses AES128 encryption and works over virtual private networks (VPN).
Splashtop Pro is available as a subscription of $15/month per user (or $150/year per user) for unlimited iOS devices.
