Parallels releases maintenance update for Desktop 9

Parallels has released Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac Build 9.0.24229, a maintenance update that fixes bugs related to "stability and performance issues." The update contains a number of fixes specifically for Windows and for OS X virtual machines, though it doesn't fix the problem of Mavericks 10.9.3 VMs booting to a black screen (see related article).

Build 9.0.24229 includes the following fixes specific to Windows virtual machines:

  • Resolves an issue with Parallels Transporter Agent not launching on Windows computers.
  • Resolves an issue with Coherence view mode for Windows 8.1 Update 1 virtual machines.
  • Resolves an issue with jumping to the OS X login screen while working in a Windows virtual machine in Coherence mode on a MacBook Pro with Retina display
  • Resolves an issue with copying and pasting pictures and screenshots into Microsoft Outlook 2010.
  • Resolves an issue with vertical mouse scrolling not working in Autodesk Revit Architecture 2014 running in Coherence.
  • Resolves an issue with Autodesk Inventor 2014 crashing during the rendering process.

Fixes specific to OS X virtual machines:

  • Resolves an issue with time synchronization after resuming an OS X virtual machine.
  • Resolves an issue with automatic resolution while resizing an OS X Mavericks virtual machine window.
  • Resolves an issue with OS X virtual machines crashing when more than 64MB of video memory is allocated.
  • Resolves an issue with Parallels Tools features (copy and paste, and shared folders) for Mac OS X 10.5 virtual machines.
  • Resolves an issue with the OS X password not being accepted when exiting Full Screen.
  • Resolves an issue with OS X virtual machines not booting on a Mac Pro.
  • Resolves an issue with a warning about the software from an unidentified developer appearing during Parallels Tools installation in guest versions of OS X.

General Fixes

  • Resolves an issue with the virtual machine bridged networking disconnecting after the Mac wakes up from sleep.
  • Resolves an issue with virtual machines booting to a black screen after upgrading to Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac.
  • Resolves an issue with Parallels Desktop crashing when switching a virtual machine to Full Screen.
  • Resolves an issue with updating Parallels Tools in Ubuntu virtual machines after upgrading to or updating Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac.
