Along with the Parallels Desktop 7 releases today, Parallels released Parallels Mobile 7, an update to the software that enables users to control a Windows virtual machine remotely from an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. New features include support of sound coming from the Windows virtual machine and the ability to copy and paste between iOS apps and Windows programs.
Another major feature is the ability to control the host Mac and operate Mac applications from the iOS device. Parallels said that Parallels Mobile 7 has better video performance and improved support of external iPad keyboards.
Parallels Mobile is available through the App Store on the iOS device. Although formerly free, the new version has a regular price of US $20, and an introductory price of US $5. Windows Mobile accesses the virtual machine residing on the Mac, but Parallels Desktop does not need to be running.
