MokaFive has released MokaFive for iOS, a solution for secure access of enterprise data from an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. Described by a company spokespersons as a "DropBox for the enterprise," MokaFive for iOS uses an encrypted container on the device to secure and isolate corporate data from other content on a personal iPad or iPhone. Users can browse and view data, but for this first release, cannot edit files on the iOS device. MokaFive for iOS caches files for offline use, enabling user access to files without a network connection.
MokaFive for iOS consists of an iOS app and a management console, which can also be used with its products for Mac OS X and Windows. e company said MokaFive is the only solution for managing iOS, Macs, and PCs from a single console. The management console enables IT administrators configure over 30 group policies. Some of these policies can allow data to be move out of the encrypted container. Another can allow specified iOS apps to access data in the container. Administrators can also remotely wipe the secure container from lost or stolen devices with a single click.
In addition to providing iOS devices secure access to corporate content, MokaFive for iOS can sync files with a Windows virtual machine running on a Mac or Windows PC, using MokaFive for Mac and Windows. This integration redirects My Documents files to the iPad via Microsoft's cloud, enabling users to seamlessly move from desktop to laptop to iPad. Unlike the versions for OS X and Windows, MokaFive for iOS does not provide OS virtualization.
To provision the software, the user downloads the MokaFive app from App store, and then connects to the MokaFive management server to get access to whatever IT has sanctioned.
MokaFive for iOS is available for an annual license fee of US $50/user.
